Heading into the holiday season, some of the year’s best films will no doubt be among those released in November and December. The Hunger Games sequel, Catching Fire, was among those and is living up to its hype. The ordeal continues as the main characters Katniss Everdeen and Peeta Mellark must take a “Victor’s Tour” of the districts. All the while, President Snow plots an end to the two young revolutionaries.

In the comedy genre, movie-goers will find Delivery Man quite funny as Vince Vaughn plays a former sperm donor who finds out that he has fathered 533 children. It’s light-hearted fun as Vaughn tries to connect with all of his kids. Another family-type film is Frozen, an animated hit featuring the voice of Kristen Bell as main character Anna. After being cast into eternal winter by her sister, Snow Queen Elsa, Anna, a mountaineer named Kristoff, and his reindeer set off to break the spell.

Action movies abound throughout November and December and two of the best are Out of the Furnace and Homefront. Christian Bale stars as the older brother in Furnace who must choose between saving his brother from a life of crime and getting out of poverty. In Homefront, action star Jason Statham is a former DEA agent looking for a more peaceful life. He moves with his daughter to a small town to get away from the life he once knew. The only problem is that the small town is run by a gang leader played by James Franco.

There are a few upcoming movies that are promising, especially ones that are based on wildly successful television series. Entourage, the hit HBO television series, has an upcoming movie under development. Considering the popularity of the TV show, it’s expected to do well.
